7,000 Acres Makes Whistler Blackcomb A Sweet Ride
With the opening of Symphony Bowl and the Peak Chair on Whistler Mountain on Saturday and the Blackcomb Glacier which opened this past Thursday, Whistler Blackcomb now boasts 1,700 acres of riding bliss and brings the total ride-able acreage to 7,000.
The operations crews have been working steadily this year in order to safely open more and more terrain for guests.
An unpredictability in the snow pack this season has made things challenging because of the weather patterns and has kept the patrol team busy with extensive avalanche control work.
These factors only strengthen the importance for guests to obey all signs posted and to only enter the backcountry with extensive knowledge and the right equipment. It is always wise to partner up and let others know where you are planning on going and when you will be back.
Now that the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola is officially open, guests of Whistler Blackcomb can check out Symphony Bowl and ski Spanky's in an afternoon for the first time this season.
