Highway 99 Whistler Improvements Project Weekly Update – May 25, 2009

Alpine Paving will continue with the installation of the Hydro duct line and manholes along the east side of the highway (adjacent to the northbound lanes) Highway 99 between Lane Placid Road and Nordic Drive.

In addition, Alpine Paving will continue grading and paving work on the east shoulder between Spring Creek Drive and Alta Lake Road and rock drilling works in the Panorama Ridge area while commencing clearing work on the west shoulder in the vicinity of Whistler Way and shoulder widening works on the east shoulder between Function Junction and Spring Creek Road.

Please be cautious of traffic pattern changes in the area. The following is the construction schedule and associated traffic control measures to be implemented:

May 25 – 30, 2009

Highway 99 Whistler Improvements Project - Highway 99 between Function Junction and Whistler Way:

Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
Short sections of lane shifts / diversions along the length of the work area with less than 5-minute delays for traffic control personnel assisted truck access and egress;

Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. / Friday, 10 a.m. to noon:
Short sections of single lane alternating traffic patterns along the length of the work area with less than 15-minutes delays for off-loading materials and pouring concrete / backfill material; BC Hydro Line Work: Work has been completed

June 1 – 6, 2009

Highway 99 Whistler Improvements Project - Highway 99 between Function Junction and Blueberry Drive:

Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
Short sections of lane shifts / diversions along the length of the work area with less than 5-minute delays for traffic control personnel assisted truck access and egress;

Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. / Friday, 10 a.m. to noon:
Short sections of single lane alternating traffic patterns along the length of the work area with less than 15-minutes delays for off-loading materials and pouring concrete / backfill material;
During the hours of work, construction speed zones will be in effect so remember - traffic fines double in work zones – so please slow down!

Please note: All site visitors are required to check in at the site office upon arrival and departure.
