High Fire Hazard Rating in Whistler

Icon - Report WildfiresWhistler, along with the rest of the Sea to Sky Corridor, is currently experiencing a significant weather event that has pushed the municipality and surrounding areas into an Extreme Fire Hazard Rating.

FIRE HAZARD ADVISORY:

Backcountry Operators
When using using motorized equipment (ATVs, Hummers etc.) please remember to stay to marked trails and not enter into grassy areas as the heat generated by their equipment could easily ignite a fire.

Smokers
Please refrain from smoking in non-paved areas (any trails) and if you do smoke on paved areas properly dispose of your smoking materials.

CAMPFIRE BAN IN EFFECT:


The Sea to Sky Corridor is currently at an extreme fire danger rating and a campfire ban is in effect. BC Forest Service officials, in conjunction with Compliance and Enforcement experts, are patrolling the area to enforce this campfire ban.
