The Olympic flame has traveled 45,000 kilometres across Canada to reach the beautiful mountains and luxurious accommodations of the resort town of Whistler.

The first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896, but the official Winter Olympics were not held until 1924 in Chamonix, France.

86 years later Canada continues the dream and aspirations that the Olympic and Paralympic Games represent for international unity and cooperation amongst nations.

By the time the torch arrives in Vancouver on Friday, February 12, to officially kick start the games it will have passed through the hands of 12,000 people and visited over 1,000 communities, making it the longest torch relay to take place within a host country in the history of the Olympics.

Many will wish not to miss out on this historic event and will be able to take full advantage of the exquisite accommodations offered in Whistler that have given this beautiful resort town it's reputation of excellence, allowing it to offer a unique experience for all Olympic and Paralympic fans.

Whistler is host to 3 different Olympic venues.
