The defining celebration of Whistler, the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival is a 10 day and night showcase of the latest progressions in the skiing and snowboarding world, where even the arts events are packed full of adrenaline. Combining Canada’s largest free outdoor concert series with career-making showdowns of action sports and lifestyle fashion, photography and film, the best spring snow conditions, and burn-the-candle nightlife, it’s a celebration of everything that’s core to mountain culture.
In art, in the practice of a sport, in life, every action generates a reaction. TWSSF’s newest programming for 2009 responds to an evolving culture, and invites interaction – propulsion, revolution, a change in momentum, a truthful reaction, the surrender to impulse… Because when we let editing and suppression and fear of consequences fall away, we are left riding the fat tongue of the moment into brilliance.
