What's On Whistler - April 2007
For many ski towns, the winter season winds to a close in April. Not so in Whistler. The storms of winter
have deposited an astonishing amount of snow still picture perfect in spring and ready-to-ski through June
– just ask the “Heavy Metal Motorcycle Mommas” who will race during the Mom’s Mountain Classic on April
11. Also yet to come is the biggest party of the winter season: the legendary TELUS World Ski and Snowboard
Festival brings ten days of winter sport, fashion, film, photography and Canada’s largest free outdoor
concert series.
Sierra Wireless Whistler Cup - April 6-8, 2007
Now
in its 15th year, Whistler Cup is North America's premier International Juvenile Ski Race for girls and
boys aged 11 to 14 years. The race brings together 350 athletes from more than 20 countries around the
world. Modeled after Disney’s Trofeo Topolino Alpine Ski Races in Italy, the Sierra Wireless Whistler Cup
has already become the North American highlight of the international juvenile calendar. This FIS-sanctioned

Reel Alternatives - Wednesday, April 11 & Wednesday, April 25
Reel Alternatives, Whistler’s Independent Film Series, continues through April with two award-winning
films at Whistler’s Village 8 Cinemas. Unnatural and Accidental screens on April 11 and Monkey Warfare
on April 25. Reel Alternatives is a co-presentation by Village 8 Cinemas and the Whistler Film Festival.
A non-profit education and cultural organization, the Whistler Film Festival Society is dedicated to enriching
the cultural experience of local, national and international audiences by celebrating, promoting and developing
Canadian filmmakers and world cinema through its annual film festival, monthly screening series and other

Mom's Mountain Classic 2007 - Wednesday, April 11
This fun annual event is open to skiing and snowboarding mums and grandmums of all ages. The day includes
morning coffee, race practice, a match-time race, lunch (optional reservations in two seatings at Christine's
on Blackcomb Mountain) and après festivities. The theme for this year's race is "Heavy Metal Motorcycle
Momma". Register prior to the event day at any Guest Relations or Ski & Snowboard School Sales locations

World Ski & Snowboard Festival - April 13 to 22
You're invited to Whistler's amazing annual spring celebration of music, arts, sports and culture. The
Whistler Ski & Snowboard Festival 2007 pumps up the volume with 50 live concerts, major pro ski and snowboard
comps, legendary arts events, endless nightlife and the planet's best spring skiing & snowboarding over

Ski & Tee Season Begins in May
Multi-sport enthusiasts can soon split their day between skiing and golfing. Whistler Golf Club, Nicklaus
North Golf Course, Big Sky Golf and Country Club and The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club are scheduled
to open by the first week of May while Blackcomb Mountain’s winter season remains open until June 3. With
summer skiing available on the Blackcomb glacier from June 4 to the beginning of August, visitors have
more than three months to enjoy Whistler’s unique “ski & tee” season.
