What's On Whistler - July 2007
Summer has arrived in Whistler with more activities and events for all. From the heart-pounding thrill
of downhill mountain biking, the sweet relaxation of a picnic by the lake, or the exhilaration of stunning
360 degree panoramas of alpine wilderness viewed from the comfort of your gondola, there is more to see
and do in Whistler than ever before. Other July happenings include art workshops, exhibitions and festivals,

Canada Day Celebration - July 1, 2007
Canada
celebrates our 140th anniversary as a nation. Come share the Canadian spirit and follow the traditional
float parade. Activities begin in Parking Lot 5 at 12 p.m., then wind their way through the pedestrian
village finishing at the Town Plaza Gazebo at 1:15 p.m. Join us for our National Anthem sung by Whistler's
own Ali Milner, followed by music from the Delta Youth Symphony Orchestra, birthday cake cutting, face
painting and the opportunity for a photograph with RCMP Sergeant Dave Smith on horseback. Visit

Red Bull Elevation - July 1, 2007
The world's best BMX riders descend on the Whistler Mountain Bike Park for Red Bull Elevation 2007. The
event is followed by a live concert with popular Canadian band, Metric. Last year's winner of the $10,000
Grand Prize, Corey Bohan, is set to return to Whistler to defend his title alongside 35 top-level BMX riders.

BC Bike Race - July 1 to 7, 2007
The BC Bike Race involves teams of two or four in seven days of spectacular mountain biking starting in
Victoria and ending in Whistler. The BC Bike Race stages wind through nine beautiful west coast communities.
Riders will reach Whistler for the final stage where they cross the finish line after riding over 500 kilometres.

ArtWalk - July 1 to 31, 2007
Whistler's 4th annual Artwalk, runs from July 1 through to July 31. This free exhibition offers fine art,
photography, glass, ceramics and jewellery featured at non-traditional gallery spaces. Opening night receptions
at all Artwalk locations are open to the public on the evening of June 30 - a great opportunity to meet
the artists and hobnob with locals.
Whistler Street Entertainment - Weekends throughout the summer
The always-popular Whistler Street Entertainment Program is back for the summer featuring artists, musicians
and other performers throughout Whistler on summer weekends, free-of-charge. The entertainers provide added
fun and excitement to the streets of Whistler while showcasing many members of the vibrant local arts scene.

Whistler's Farmers' Markets - Weekends throughout the summer
Fresh,
organic and local produce plus gift-giving crafts created by Whistler's artisans, are available at two
separate Whistler Farmers' Markets. The Upper Village Farmers' Market is located at the base of Blackcomb
Mountain and takes place every Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through October. The Franz's Trail Outdoor Market
is an intimate showcase of 18-vendors in Whistler's Creekside Village. The market runs every Saturday from

Discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope with Ray Villard - July 5, 2007
See spectacular images and hear about the latest discoveries made with the Hubble Space Telescope presented
by Ray Villard, public information manager for the Space Telescope Science Institute at Johns Hopkins University

Whistler Children's Art Festival - July 14 to 15, 2007
The 24th annual Whistler Children's Art Festival brings together emerging and professional artists, artisans
and performers to share their skills with Whistler kids and families. The jam-packed two-day festival will
be held in Whistler Creekside July 14 and 15, 2007 and will feature fine arts, crafts and performance-based
workshops for young people. Among this year's featured events is the Lego Building Competition sponsored
by the Whistler Museum, a chocolate rose-making workshop hosted by Rogers Chocolates, and the Caring Kidz
Club, which will create magical fairies with funds raised going towards building a school in Kenya.
In addition to many of last year's favourite acts, a number of new entertainers and musicians will grace
the Rogers Main Stage on July 14 and 15, including Aché Brasil, Art Napoleon, Circus Fungus, The Kids on
the Block, Black Swade, The Blues Berries, Bobs & Lolo Musical Adventures, Ishtar, The Kostaman Trio, Kunaka,
Magic Show 2 Go, Rick Scott, Stephen Vogler, Ta Daa Lady and Zany Zack to name a few.

Kokanee Crankworx - July 21-29, 2007
Kokanee
Crankworx is the premier showcase of Whistler's mountain bike activities and season. This weeklong event
combines stunt sessions and speed events with the world's best mountain bikers competing for cash and prizes.
From the classic Downhill competitions, Air Downhill, Slopestyle, Dual Slalom and WomenzWorx to the outdoor
expo, pro riding demonstrations and free music and entertainment, the event line-up which takes place on
Whistler Blackcomb's famed mountain bike park and throughout Whistler Village will thrill riders and spectators

WomenzWorx - July 23 to 24, 2007
The first event of its kind in North America, WomenzWorx will feature two days of Freeride mountain bike
clinics and competitions for women only. WomenzWorx promises to draw women of all ability levels to take
part in the event's clinics and competitions with a free bike park day ticket to the first 100 women who
hit the bike park on July 23 and 24. On Tuesday July 24, The Gala competition and The Dirty Girl's Gala
social event at Merlin's will give ladies a chance to show off their skills and compete for a Pro Prize
