The
highlight of the Telus World Ski and Snowboard festival happens
today - Big Air. Watch fearless pros tackle the huge jump at the
base of Whistler Mountain. This is an event not to be
missed.
Also today is the Whistler Dogfest. Starting at 11am with the Dog Parade then followed by exhibitions, agility demonstrations and competitions. All proceeds of the Dogfest go to WAG (Whistler Animals Galore) a Whistler-based no-kill animal shelter.
The Freeze Dance Competition sees dance crews compete against each other to their own choreographed routine. The competition emerges to showcase the talented dancers of the urban dance world. You can see the final of the competition during the Big Air event on Saturday evening in the Skiers Plaza.
Gogol Bordello will be playing at the free outdoor concert series in the Skiers Plaza on Saturday afternoon. Gogol Bordello is a collaboration of Gypsy music, punk, reggae, ska, hip-hop, dub, dance-hall, flamenco, and so much more. Formed in New York, Gogol Bordello features a strong Eastern European influence. Ghetto Funk will be playing during the Big Air competition.
