Location: Olympic Plaza - Whistler Village
Whistler Presents is a FREE outdoor concert series at the new Olympic Plaza. No other than the Barenakes Ladies are featured with Brother Twang opening the concert.
What can you say about Barenakes Ladies (or as friends like to call them... BNL)? Great Canadian pop music grounded in a firm sense of Canuck humour loved worldwide!
The iconic Canadian rock band just seem to love Whistler and Whistler loves them right back. The band performs in the resort on a regular basis including as a featured performer during the 2010 Winter Games.
Their biggest singles include "One Week", "The Old Apartment", "Pinch Me", "If I Had $1,000,000" (that's 7 figures) and "Brian Wilson" although our favourite is their Bruce Cockburn cover "Lovers in a Dangerous Time". It's so "Scarborough"!
These guys are no strangers to Whistler either. Brother Twang were actually formed in Whistler in 2008. We'll let the band describe their musical style... "Brother Twang is a diverse, truly original band and are known to perform many different genres of music on any given night; all of which are played in a rock format." Rock on Brother Twang!
