Best 5 Whistler Family Winter Activities

Whistler is an outdoor playground for both adults and kids.  There are so many fun activities to do, it is hard to choose which one. We have compiled a list of the 5 best activities suitable for children during the winter months.

Whistler Kids Ski and Snowboard School

Whistler has one of the best kids ski and snowboard schools in the country.  Lessons are available from ages 3 years to 17 years.  There are a number of different programs available from daily lessons to weekly adventure camps.  Lessons are a great balance of skill development and fun.  At the end of the day your children will tell stories of visiting Magic Castles and Tree Forts!

Tube Park

The tube park is located at Base 2 on Blackcomb Mountain.  Cruise down a variety of lanes in an inflatable ring! It is easily accessible via the Blackcomb Gondola from Whistler Village.  The park is open from 12noon to 6pm daily during the winter.  It is a great place to bring the whole family.

Climbing Wall

The Whistler Core is located in the heart of Whistler Village under the Whistler Conference Centre.  It features an amazing 5500 square-foot indoor rock climbing wall.  There are a number of kids programs available for children aged 4 years and up.  Visit the Whistler Core for more information.

Meadow Park Sports Centre

Meadow Park Sports Centre features a great kid's pool complete with lazy river and whirlpool.  In the main swimming pool there is a rope swing, perfect for the older children.  Meadow Park is also home to Whistler's ice rink.  Check out the weekly schedule for drop in skating times.  Skate rentals are available.

The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre

The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre is an Aboriginal Museum and Cultural experience.  It is located in the Upper Village close to the Four Seasons Resort.   Explore the museum, workshops, indoor and outdoor exhibits, gift shop and cafe.  Located at the end of the Great Hall is a children's activity zone. Perfect for all ages, guest can play a drum, try on authentic aboriginal regalia, read books and try a craft.
