The 16 days of Opening Day (almost better than Christmas): Day 11 - Cross Country Skiing
On the 11th day of Opening day, my true love gave to me.....laps
around Lost Lake and the Callaghan??
As Whistler and Whistlerites gear up for the start of another
amazing season, in the 16 days leading up to Opening Day, I'm going
to give you 16 different ideas of some awesome things to do this
winter season!
NUMBER 11:
Cross Country Skiing around the Whistler and Callaghan
valleys!
Not all skiing has to be done on a steep incline, turns out tons
of people love skiing the flats too!
Whistler Valley offers up to 28 kilometers of Cross Country ski
tracks around Lost Lake, Chateaux Whistler Golf course, and
Nicklaus North Golf course. With tons of different tacks for all
skill levels, you're bound to get a good workout, and enjoy some of
the gorgeous scenery the Whistler Valley has to offer.
If 28 kilometers doesn't sound like enough for you, then head down
to the Callaghan Valley home of Whistler Olympic Park (site of
the Nordic events for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic
Winter Games) where they offer up to 90(!!)
Kilometers of cross country skiing goodness!
All trails are expertly groomed for both classic and skate
skiing, and range from beginner to Olympic calibre.
I'd say the hot tub at the end of that will be well worth
it!
